Thodays' match had a brutal opening, not seen for a long time. The rats kicked the ball right to the line, and started with a blitz. Took down a Norse berserker in the process, but the Wrathalla coach had an ace up his sleeve (card) and avoided casualty. The player still had to go to the ko bin for a bit of first aid. Skaven barely kept hold of the ball on number 12, a lineman. The coach tried to get the team to give the ball to a gutter, but with Helmut standing in the back with his chainsaw, it was too appealing to saw through some horned helmets. Sadly the saw kicked back two turns in a row. The ko benches still filled up, and by the end of first half, five players were missing from both teams. The Norse still kept the score equal by doing a two against block to free the ball, turn 7.
The rats ran in another td third turn second half. Not having been allowed a single square of the opposing field by the Norse coach. But with a Burst of Speed (card), a td was still possible. Last turn of the match, the score was 3-2, to the rats. And the Norse faced a powerful pillar defense. Number 13 was not deterred, and dodged 4+, 4+, 3+, as if it was the simplest thing ever. Showing that everyone can be an elf once in a while.
Another draw, but quite an exciting one this time. |
